RCMP History Practice Test

This question tests your ability to recall a specific date tied to a ceremonial honour in RCMP history. The Commissioner's Tipstaff is a ceremonial recognition connected to the leadership of the force, documented with the Commissioner’s name and the year the honour was awarded.

For Commissioner W. L. Higgitt, the historical records indicate the Tipstaff was awarded in 1970. That alignment with the documented timeline makes 1970 the correct year. The other years don’t match the established record for his receipt of the honour.
